Watch Design Construction
Technical drawings detailing the watch case, components, bracelet, dial and color ways were prepared as initial construction specs for building pre-production prototype models.
Michael Kors - Hangar
Inspired by simplicity of classic pilot watches, the case presents a slim body with flowing lugs complimented by a conical crown and offset pushers for the chronograph. In keeping with the case design, the bracelet is a clean three-link with polished beveled edge. Single sub-eye chronograph with bold hands that reference the analog gauges of vintage aircraft.
Michael Kors - Grandstand
Chronograph designed with a military aviator theme. Square angular case with exposed screw hardware and bold dial graphics inspired by vintage airplane cockpit instrumentation.
Hugo Boss - Mens Watches
Designed for their Black Label, this collection of mens watches carries a distinct style of elegant minimalism. Special attention was given to the precision of fine detailing, quality of construction, use of materials and finishes.
Dial Design HB-136
Chronograph dial designed with the sailing sportsman in mind. The dial is defined by bold hands and beveled indexes with a knurled dial texture and brushed sub-eyes.
Case Design HB-136
Case features a large dial opening to emphasize the chronograph complications. Bracelet is a low profile directional link design.
Hugo Boss HB-136
Stainless steel case and bracelet with combination brushed and polished finishes complimented by a black top rotating bezel and 3-eye chronograph movement.
Hugo Boss HB-107
Inspired by automotive instrument panel gauges, this dial presents dual time and date complications in a horizontal layout. Production design stayed true to the original concept art with subtle use of brushed finishes and a tone-on-tone black dial with bright red accents for the main second hand and date marker.
Results
The above projects were a series of Mens Watch Collections designed, developed and produced for global fashion brands Michael Kors and Hugo Boss. Each label has its own unique design sensibilities which are expressed through their form language, use of materials and textures.
